A Home of My Own: Charlotte’s Story
Charlotte’s story is wrapped in unknown and mystery, and unfolds into her “emotional and physical” scars. Little about her past is known. She and her two puppies were found as starving strays and brought to Project Hope. Her two puppies were moved to a foster home and adopted, but Charlotte remained at the shelter in search of her forever home.

Carrie Turner lost her 14 year old pug, Jay, and thought about adding a new dog in her home, but decided to keep it to just her pug Zoey for a while. Then one day, her co-worker tried convincing her to get a puppy. This made Carrie think of Charlotte, a dog she saw available for adoption from Project Hope a while back. She checked to see if Charlotte was still available for adoption. A week later, she filled out her adoption application.

Today, Charlotte goes by the name Chloe. “She has been such an amazing addition to the family,” says Carrie. Toys, house shoes and socks are some of Charlotte’s favorites things. “She is such a sweet, loving, and playful baby. She is so smart!” gushes Carrie. Her two favorite things are food and belly rubs. “In that order,” claims Carrie. Of all things, Carrie is excited to watch Charlotte continue to show her true character, and give her the life she deserves. Ultimately, Carrie just wants Charlotte to be loved and feel safe. With Carrie, Charlotte has a home of her own.
