SWATT Program

Project Hope Humane Society has proudly partnered with Shawnee Correctional Center for the Shawnee Wellness Assistance Therapy Training (SWATT) Program. This program is also partnering with the University of Illinois Veterinary Medical School.

Our next graduating class has been selected and taken to Shawnee Correctional Center. For ninety days, the dogs will be trained for basic obedience skills, house training, and socialization. They will be taught and nurtured by offender handlers under the supervision of volunteer program trainers.

Veterans and individuals with disabilities, we are now accepting applications!

If you are interested in adopting one of our trained comfort dogs please complete an application today! You may also contact Project Hope via email: info@projecthopefumanesociety.com or call us at (618) 524-8939. The dogs are available to Veterans at no adoption fee or for a reduced adoption fee to individuals with disabilities.

If you are interested in donating items to our SWATT program, please consider purchasing from our Amazon Wish List!

When you purchase from our Wish List, your donation will be conveniently delivered directly to the Shawnee Correctional Center. If you are interested in a monetary donation, please visit our PayPal via the Donate page and enter "SWATT Program" into the memo box.
